Join Les Claypool for a “memorable” behind the scenes panel that explores two completely different dubbing experiences. For Les, Akira was an amazing experience of working on one of the most legendary movies in anime history, and Armitage was simply the craziest dub of his entire career.
Les was the audio supervisor in charge of dubbing, editing, restoration and enhancement, as well as the final mix of both films. A few of the stories include how the Akira Committee gave Les complete, unsupervised control of all audio related jobs, and what it took to bring the movie up to current technical standards, working with Armitage’s Kiefer Sutherland and Elizabeth Berkely, with it’s skyrocketing budget, ridiculous technical problems and schedule, and a final delivery that took place in a supermarket parking lot! Panel contains numerous never-before-heard stories relating to both dubs.
